When they were doing the Road Trips, originally conceived as collections, they would give us fragments form shows that should have been released complete . Now they have Dave's Picks, conceived as a "whole shows " series, they can't give us shows that are fragmentary , or incomplete ...
I always though there was a use for both approaches . I I though that 93 RT was a good idea, the best of 2 nights, in an era where there is interesting stuff, but the shows are "uneven"( to say the least). And for musically more substantial eras, if fragments are all that exist, compile those . Any thing form the early period would be wroth it !
I am a big Keith era fan, so I'm happy, but it worries me that economic concerns might put a clamp, on early, or lesser thought of eras .
